Capricorn – The Birth of the Devas and the Seed of the Plan
Image of the Month of Capricorn
In Eastern wisdom, devas are non-human, spiritual ethereal entities, also called "the shining ones". They are like angels and compose a vast cosmic hierarchy that rules and guides evolution. They are great intelligences. In the west, devas are of the angelic realm.
The birth of the Saviour is celebrated at the winter solstice in Capricorn at dawn. This time also symbolises the birth of the Devas. Devas prepare the creation into which humankind will only enter much later.
At the dawn of Capricorn, Sanat Kumara, the Lord of Shambala, sows the seeds of the Plan amongst the Deva intelligences on the subtle planes. Hence, for humanity, the dawn of the year is also the most auspicious time to sow the seeds for the coming new year. The Hierarchy makes contact with Shambala at this time and later receives the details of the Plan in Aries.
To illustrate these subtle processes, I used a photograph of a sunrise at the beginning of Capricorn, taken on a flight from Delhi to Bangalore. Into this, I integrated a photo of the seed heads of a dandelion, which had been covered in a mantle of hoarfrost due to a night-time frost. The luminous crystalline forms illustrate the awakening of the devas at the winter solstice, the seeds for future life ready to take flight.
